The other day, we were all in the mini van together. I can’t remember where we were going, but probably to run an errand or something. We have some of the best conversations together in the car. Somehow Emma brought up the subject of growing up.
I asked the kids “So, Emma and Ian, what do you guys want to be when you grow up?”
Ian: I want to be a guy that flies airplanes.
Emma: I want to be an artist. I loooove art! Or, maybe an Astronaut.
I thought it was so cute. I can’t remember ever really asking the kids what they wanted to be when they grow up. Emma is a great little artist. She loves to just sit and color and draw for hours. The astronaut part, though, I have no idea where that came from!

Dava says:
When Suzanne was cute Emma’s age, I went to a parent-teacher conference. I waited in a chair across from the bulletin board with the title: “What I want to Be When I grow Up”. It was smattered with pictures of kids under which was written their favorite careers. “Fireman” “Policeman” “Astronaut”
“Teacher” “Ballerina”
Suzie: “Waitress”!!! Go Figure!
