Today I had my 6 week postpartum checkup. Everything went great. While I was there I saw a 2 week old baby boy. He looked TINY to me. The funny thing is, he wasn’t tiny. He was over 8 lbs. Nora looked huge to me compared to him. It made me stop and think about how fast this time goes, and how big she is already. I weighed her and she was 11 lbs 6 oz with her clothes on!! I still think she looks like a tiny newborn, but compared to that other little guy she looked huge.

She was a big hit at the birth center. Everyone thought she was really cute, and they couldn’t believe how alert she was. She really is very alert, when she is awake. She is really smiling now, and starting to coo at us. She is such a good baby. She rarely cries, and when she does she is very easy to console. She is usually content to just sit and look around when she is awake. She is a good nurser, and very quick. She rarely nurses for more than 5 minutes! I can’t believe she continues to gain weight so well when she nurses for such short periods. It is such a relief after how slow Emma was to gain weight. She is even a pretty good sleeper. She is sleeping on her own, in her bassinet, for about 3 hours at a time. Some nights she spends a lot of time in our bed, and others she is in the bassinet most of the night. I am just really happy that she is sleeping on her own at all.

I can’t believe that she will be 7 weeks tomorrow, and next week she will be 2 months!
