The Nutcracker

I bought tickets for my mom and I to take Emma to the Nutcracker today. Park City Dance (where Emma takes dance lessons) is putting it on. It is on November 30th, which is perfect for us. My mom will be home from North Carolina, but it is before we leave for Maui.

I remember going to the Nutcracker a few times with my mom when I was young. I was never a dancer. I actually hated dance and almost anything else girly. But I remember just being mesmerized by the Nutcracker. I loved the music and seeing all of the little kids dance. I loved the fancy dresses and the bright colors.

My mom has talked about taking Emma for a while now. Up until this year, I didn’t think she was really ready. But this is her second year in dance. Last year she loved her dance performance. I think she will enjoy it, and it is special because it is “her” dance school. Maybe it will inspire her to want to do it next year. I think it will be a fun girls night! Maybe when Nora gets a bit bigger we can make it a family tradition.
