The Gate Golden Bridge

San Francisco was a whirlwind of diamond shopping. My mom got a beautiful diamond!! And Emma got the cutest little princess cut diamond earrings. We spent a lot of time in one block of the city going back and forth to Danny’s office while they perfected the ring. The highlight of the trip was sitting on Carol Anne’s deck the first day we got there. It was amazing. They have the most beautiful view of the water and the Golden Gate Bridge. We just sat there for at least an hour and had hors douvers. It was beautiful, and it was such a treat to just sit and relax for that much time. I can’t remember the last time I did that. We also had lunch at a fantastic dim sum place.

Before I went, I was talking to Emma. I told her that I was going to San Francisco for a couple of days with Nana. I wasn’t worried that she would miss me ;-) but I wanted her to know that I was leaving. She looked at me and said “You know what, I know what is there. San Francisco is where the Gate Golden Bridge is!” It was so cute, and she is so smart! She had seen something about the bridge in a little card game that she got from Arby’s. I don’t know how she remembers so much.

I was happy to be home this time. I really missed the kids a lot this time. I was also feeling a little uneasy about being so far away from home and Becky, being this pregnant. I just had this worry in the back of my mind about what I would do if I went into labor. I know, fat chance with my history, but I just kept thinking about what if. There is just something comforting about being back home, and knowing I am in the right place if I do go into labor. Which, by the way would be ok in 9 days–9 DAYS! I can’t believe how close it is getting. I am still feeling really good. I can still get around fairly well, I have been sleeping pretty comfortably. I can tell the baby is still quite high, I would like it if it would move a bit and start putting some pressure on that cervix. I spent the last 2 days planting flowers and squatting a lot, I hoped that would help, but it seems to be about the same. I know this baby will come when it is ready ;-)
