I have been in Maui for 4 weeks today
It sure is beautiful here, and I am loving the weather. Scott left on Tuesday. He said the weather at home today was terrible–really cold and snowy. It sounds terrible, but to be honest, I am ready to get home. I miss Scott, and I am starting to get a little bit bored. I am ready to get back into our regular routine.
I am really ready to get my old Ian back
At least, I hope he comes back when we get home. He has really been difficult on this trip. He gets so overtired, and then he gets completely hyper and unmanageable. He has always been full of energy, but he has been so much worse lately. I think that I am more bothered by it on this trip too, because I keep hearing Bryan tell me how bad he thinks Ian is. The first few days we were here, he napped every day. But the last couple of weeks, he just fights it and fights it. I usually end up taking him for a drive to get him to sleep. I always laughed at people who did that, and now here I am doing it
I am hoping when we get home, and he is back in his own room that we can get him back into a napping routine.
Emma, on the other hand has been a gem. She has been great on this trip. She has been so agreeable, and so happy. She has taken naps a lot of the days, and is always eager to go to bed at night. She has been loving the pool. She is doing so well with her swimming. She can swim all the way across the pool, without any help. Tonight we walked out on the beach to see Jason and Mariela fishing. Emma was running around on the sand bags. She ran up to me and hugged my legs and said “Mommy, I really love you!” It made me feel so good. It made me feel like all the struggles are really worth it.
Nora is 3 months old! I can’t believe how much she has changed in the last 4 weeks. I can tell a noticeable difference since I first got here. She is much more alert, and is awake for longer periods of time. She is still rolling over from her back to her tummy, and now she is pushing herself up on her hands and looking around. I think she is ready to go in the pool.
I am going to wait for a good warm day without much wind, and then I will see how she likes the pool.
