“So that’s what you do at night…”

Wednesday’s are super busy days for us. We have all of our weekly activities in one evening. Today was busier than ever because Nora and Ian had parent education night at their school. We dropped off Emma and then headed back to Soaring Wings. The kids showed me all the things they have been working on, then we headed back to pick up Emma. We got home about 7:30pm–a half hour past the kids’ normal bedtime.

I hurried everyone into bed, and luckily everyone went in pretty easily.

As soon as I got them into bed I started doing some of my normal evening chores. I was emptying the dishwasher when Emma came upstairs to ask me to put her music on again. I told her I would put her music on as soon as I finished emptying the dishwasher. I gave her a job to do and asked her to put away the silverware. She and I spent some nice alone time just chatting as we both put away the dishes.

After that I decided to grab the load of laundry to take down to Emma’s room. Most of it was pink and belonged in her room. I dumped it out on her floor and then asked her to help me fold it. She did a great job folding. I didn’t even know that she could fold clothes so well ;-) As she was putting some pajamas away, she looked at me and said “So this is what you do at night when we go to bed!”

It was so cute. I wonder what she thought I did at night when she was sleeping :-)

Well, I thought you sat and watched your DVR’d soap operas and ate bon bons! Isn’t that what all us moms do when nobody’s looking?!
