Ian started reading today!

Emma has been reading for a few months now. Ever since she started reading Ian has been really interested. He loves it when she reads to him. He also likes to get out books and pretend to read them while Emma is reading her books.

This week he got one of her books and was really trying to read. He was looking at the words and sounding out each letter. But, the books were just too difficult.

I decided to order a set of very beginning readers for him. They came yesterday, and first thing this morning he wanted to read them.

I got one out, and we sat down, and he read the whole thing! He just sounded out the letters and then put them together and said the word. He really surprised me. He hardly ever sits still for more than a few seconds. I really didn’t even know that he knew all the letter sounds. Little Miners is definitely teaching him something

I am so proud that he is a reader now!
