I got a new camera for my birthday I got a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. I have never had a “real” camera. I never even took a photography class in high school or anything. I have NO idea how to operate a manual camera.

I got the camera last week and I have been messing around with it feeling totally lost. I have been taking pictures like a real pro, using the preset programs I bought a this book a few weeks before I got my camera, but I hadn’t opened it yet. Last night while I was waiting for Emma to get done with CCD, I started reading it. Wow! I no longer feel like I am in the dark about photography. I can’t believe how much I learned in a short amount of time.

Today I took my first photos in manual mode….I think they turned out pretty well. I know I still have a ways to go, but I am proud of myself for taking them in manual and having them turn out decent
