I have really turned into a photography nut lately
I am loving my new camera. I found a great chat board where I have gotten a lot of great photography advice. I have been having a lot of fun taking photos.
Now, I want to invest in a new lens. I’d like to get one great “walk-about lens” that I can have on my camera most of the time. Especially for trips, etc. I just don’t have room to pack my camera and multiple lenses. I have been talking to some people about what lenses they recommend. I can’t believe how expensive some of the lenses are!
My brain is all full of lens reviews and I just can’t decide what would be the best. Should I just go with the really great “L” series lens, for some serious cash? Or should I go with something cheaper? If I buy the cheaper one now, will I regret it, and want the more expensive one later? That is what I am really trying to avoid. We are trying to cut down on our expenses
but I have some birthday money to spend on a lens.
Then if I decide on one of the L series lenses, what one should I get. I am having a hard time deciding how much zoom I want. UGH!!!
I am leaning towards the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM I am thinking that this seems like the best for my purposes. I really want a fast lens because I am usually taking pictures of kids that never sit still. It also should perform well in low light situations, which should work out well in our dark house. The reviews say it is a great portrait lens, and can take macro shots. This seems like just what I want. But, Oh the price tag!
