I haven’t been very good about posting lately at all! I need to be better….I don’t know how I let so much time go by. I guess I am busy
I just wanted to talk about how much I have been enjoying Ian lately. Last week Emma was at camp all week, and I spent from 9am-2pm with just Ian, every day. I really enjoyed the time we spent together. He has really turned into a little person lately! He carries on normal conversations with me now–he has moved away from talking like a kid, to talking like a big kid. He says things to me now like “Hey Mom, I have an idea…” and “That is so cool!”. The other day I was looking at him without a shirt on. I told him “Ian, you have a farmer’s tan.” He responded “Yeah, that is so I can go see the animals.” It was so cute! He just has the cutest way of talking, and he speaks with such emotion sometime. He gets this little tough guy face, and tries to make his voice all deep and growly. It is priceless.
He is also still super active, and a total daredevil. He is constantly jumping and climbing. This week he tried to scale the fireplace wall. Of course he fell, and got a huge bruise on the back of his thigh. His arms and legs are covered with bruises. Yesterday we went swimming at Park Meadows. When we were done we got all showered and dressed. We walked out of the locker room and Ian made a break for the kiddie pool and jumped in–with all his clothes and shoes on. UGH! As I reached down to grab him, my cell phone fell in the water too. Double UGH!!
Swimming is another thing–he has gotten so good at it. He wears floaties, and he just goes everywhere in the big pool. He climbs out of the side, and jumps in all by himself–he isn’t even concerned if there is someone there to catch him.
But aside from all the bumps and bruises and tough guy attitudes, he is such a little sweetheart. He loves to cuddle and be cuddled. He is totally sensitive. In the last few weeks he has developed a fear of the dark. He is really and truly afraid, but I don’t know why. He is such a funny little man–he isn’t afraid of things that he should be afraid of, but he is afraid of things that won’t hurt him. Go figure!
