It was quite a thanksgiving. My mom has this problem with cooking turkey–she always thinks it will be done before it really is. We were supposed to eat at 5:00pm, and we ended up eating about 7:30pm We got there around 2:00pm and I was surprised we didn’t smell the turkey. I was really surprised to hear my mom say she had just put it in at 12:30. I knew right then we were going to have another classic turkey not done Thanksgiving. Sure enough, at 4:30pm the turkey was still raw!! Dad started to get upset around 7:00pm, and we went to the store and bought steaks and a chicken. We ended up eating steak and chicken with all of our Thanksgiving fixins. I really didn’t mind–all the side dishes were delicious. I wonder if my mom will ever figure out that she needs to cook the turkey longer, but I am betting we will do this again the next time she cooks a turkey
