I really enjoy doing these fix-it Fridays. It is fun to play around with the photos, and to see how much I have learned about Photoshop. A few months ago I wouldn’t have had a clue how to fix these photos.
I used Photoshop CS3 to edit this photo.
I really felt that it would be a better photo if it was cropped. In the original there was too much emphasis on the rock, and not enough on the cute little boy. I cropped it following the rule of thirds to make him the main subject of the photo.
Then I ran one of The Pioneer Woman’s free actions on it–Defog. Next I ran a her boost action. I ended up doing that twice. I played with the opacity a little bit until I liked how it looked. I still felt like it needed a little “punch” so I ran one more of her actions–Fresh and Colorful.
If you have Photoshop and haven’t downloaded Pioneer Woman’s actions, I highly recommend it. They are a lot of fun to play with!

PW’s actions are truly amazing…esp. since they are free : ) You did a wonderful job with your edits. I love the horizontal crop and how that little change really draws your attention right to my little boys eyes. Great job!!
