Congratulations Stormy & Tim!

The girls

My old friend Stormy got married this weekend. It was so much fun to see so many of our old friends. We saw friends that Scott and I haven’t seen for about 10-15 years. They were the group of friends that we hung out with when we were first dating. We went to many shows and saw so many different bands play with them. It really brought back a lot of memories. It was fun to talk to everyone and see how far they have come, and what they were up to now.

Stormy looked incredibly happy. She and Tim couldn’t stop smiling at each other. It was really sweet. I got teary eyed watching them dance their first dance. They just looked so in love and so happy. I brought my camera, but I didn’t really get any good pictures. The room was large and dark, and I didn’t bring my flash. Oh well! I’ll just have to remember it without pictures ;-)

Sue came out for the wedding and I was so excited to see her. I couldn’t wait to see her belly and talk to her about her pregnancy. As soon as the wedding was over we couldn’t stop talking. It was so much fun to talk to her. I love talking about pregnancy and birth. She seemed so happy and so prepared. She has done a lot of research and she knows what she wants for her birth. I was so proud of her ;-) She talked about breastfeeding, and how she is definitely committed to doing it. She said she was worried about it being hard, and wanted to learn as much as she could. I think with that attitude she will definitely succeed. I suggested she go to a La Leche League meeting while she was pregnant, and she said she had already looked into it. We talked about her doctor and how she has been seeing one of the midwives in the practice, and she was thinking about having a midwife attend the delivery. I told her how much I loved my midwife, and how I felt like she would be better able to have the birth she wants with a midwife. I think that a midwife in the hospital would be the ideal situation for her. It was just so nice to talk to her and hear that her wishes were so in-line with what I wanted for my births. It was a great conversation and I felt really close to Sue ;-) I think she is going to be an awesome mom!
