I had a busy week this week! I did 3 sessions and a wedding!

The wedding was hard. I still have so much to learn about flash photography. Luckily I have a flash class at the University of Utah starting this week and next week I am going to Rock That Off Camera Flash. Between the two of them, I should learn a little more about how to better use my flash.

I haven’t edited everything, but here are a few of my favorites from the week.

I got to photograph this adorable newborn this week. Baby S was so sweet and she was perfect for me. She was awake when I got there so we got a few awake shots, then she promptly fell asleep. It was a pleasure meeting and photographing this cute family!

I did a “cake smash” photo session for my one year old niece this week. It was so much fun and I think it turned out so cute! I edited these photos on my laptop, while on vacation. I’ll do some touch ups once I get back. I just wanted to get this little sneak peek up as soon as possible. Enjoy!

I got to photograph this adorable couple this weekend. The lighting was tricky at the location we chose, but I think the scenery was worth it. I was really happy with some of the shots I captured. I love how I was able to capture how in love they are. They were so cute together and they are going to be such great parents!

Another newborn photoshoot. I just LOVE doing newborns!! I want to be a newborn photographer This little guy was awesome! He slept the entire time and just let me do anything I wanted. He made my job so much fun and so easy.

I did a photo shoot this week for some really good friends of mine. They are such a cute little family. Gage is 18 months old and they didn’t have ANY family photos. My goal was to get a good family shot of all of them. I have to say that this was a really hard shoot. Gage was so cute, but he didn’t want to do anything that we tried to get him to do. Even though he didn’t want to look at the camera, I still think we got some cute shots that captured his personality.

I read a post from a photographer a while ago about documenting everyday life with photos. I wish I could remember where I read it so I could post the link. As I read it I realized that I have been guilty of not capturing the little things. Since I have become more interested in photography, sometimes I am more worried about the quality of my photo than I am about capturing the moments. These moments while my kids are still young are flying by. This week I tried to capture a few more of our everyday moments.
