I snapped a few photos of Ian on the morning of his birthday. I wanted to capture those last few moments of being 6. I also wanted to get a few more photos while he still had his front teeth. These were taken shortly after he got up. I love how he is still in his pj’s and how his hair is a mess. I just love how these capture him just being himself.
Look at this adorable little guy I got to photograph this week!
My niece and nephew were born this week and I can’t wait to get out to Denver to photograph them!
Look at the adorable girls that I got to photograph today!
They couldn’t have been any cuter and the day couldn’t have been any nicer. It was a perfect evening for a photo shoot.
If you want to see more I should have their sneak peek up on my photography blog tomorrow. You can check it out at Kerry Sundahl Photography.
I took Ian out for a mini photo shoot this morning. Tomorrow it is Emma’s turn
Last fall I spent a couple days at a really fun photography workshop with Ali Hohn. She came back to Utah for a few more workshops and asked me to help out.
This morning I went to lend her my equipment and brought Emma along to model for the people in the workshop. She was such a great little model. I took a few photos of her too, and thought I’d share them here. She did so well they begged me to bring her back tonight for the sunset shoot.
Stay tuned for a few more later!

My favorite photography forum, ClickinMoms, is having a photography challenge. They are hosting a contest where you take a photo for every letter of the alphabet. You can conceivably enter 26 times–one time for each letter of the alphabet. The one catch is that the photos have to have been taken since March 12, 2010. I participate in the I ♥ Faces challenges often, but I usually don’t shoot a specific photo for the challenge. I usually just find a photo that I have taken in the past that fits the theme. I thought it sounded like a fun challenge, so I decided to participate. I am so glad I did because I have been having so much fun with this challenge. It has really helped me to think outside the box and to be more creative with my photography.
We have been in North Carolina for spring break and we have been having awesome weather. I have been totally taking advantage of it and I have been shooting photos every day. I still have a bunch more ideas swimming around in my head, but I thought I’d share a few of my current favorites.
I have a few more, but I’m having trouble getting them to upload to Flickr. I’ll try to add them later
I am taking an online photography course right now and we are working on shooting in different lighting conditions. This assignment was supposed to be shot in full sun (gasp!) using backlighting. This is usually a situation that I avoid like the plague, however, this technique worked great. I had fun with her and I think these turned out great!
Here is my fix for the week. I didn’t do much to this one. Since this photo was underexposed it had quite a bit of noise. I ran Noiseware and it did a pretty good job of fixing it. Then I adjusted the white balance and changed the crop a bit. That’s about it!
Go check out I ♥ Faces to see all the other Fix-it Friday participants!
I had such a great vacation in Maui. It was extremely relaxing. I enjoyed being away from the computer and all the new responsibilities that I have lately with my new photography business. I enjoyed just taking a few photos for fun. I really enjoyed playing with my new Canon G11 camera, too. Here are a few snapshots from our trip to the Maui Ocean Center.
And here is my last sunset of the year:
