I made it another year! I don’t think my posts were as interesting as other years, but at least I was able to complete my third year of NaBloPoMo. Here’s to another great year!

I have been sitting here at my computer for about 30 minutes now trying to think of something interesting to write about. I’m not very good at NaBloPoMo this year! I have been posting, but I don’t think I am very interesting.

Instead of writing I decided to try to fix my header. I still don’t know what was wrong, but I got it working again. I uninstalled the flashfader plug-in, upgraded my wordpress and then re-installed the plug-in. That seems to have done the trick!

Luckily tomorrow is Friday. That means I can do the Fix-it-Friday and I won’t have to try to come up with something interesting to post about

It drives me crazy when I come to my blog and find that something isn’t working.

I haven’t made any changes to this blog at all and for some reason my header isn’t showing up!

I tried deactivating the plug-in that makes the photos change, but it still didn’t work.

It always seems to take hours to fix one tiny problem.

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have more time to try to fix it. Today was crazy! And it is my birthday;-) Thanks, by the way, for all the nice birthday wishes from everybody on Facebook!!

I have been working on a new blog for my photography business for a while now. I finally got it up and running. It still needs to be tweaked a bit, but at least it is functional

Hopefully now I can get back to the original intent of this blog–to post funny stories and memories about my family.

I have been wanting to switch my blog over to a one column layout for quite a while. I could have done it myself, but I just didn’t want to spend the hours and hours it would have taken me. I looked around for different web designers, but I couldn’t justify the cost for most of them.

I started looking at other photographers to see who they had used for their blog designs. I saw that quite a few of them had used Teresa from So Chic Design. I checked out her site and saw that she had pre-made templates for sale. That seemed like the perfect option for me. She had a few one column layouts to choose from. I decided to go for it.

Working with Teresa has been awesome! She really went above and beyond the call of duty. She did so many more things for my design than I expected. I wanted to re-do my logo and she even did that for me. After that she did the install for me. I was extremely impressed with her service and I would recommend her to anyone. Go check her out if you are in the market for a new blog.

I have found another photography meme to participate in. I am now a Photo Hunter. If I find any more photography memes I won’t have to post any words at all, I can just fill my blog with photography

This meme was started by TNChick. You can read more about it on her blog here. Basically she posts a theme each Saturday. Then I post a photo on my blog that depicts that weeks theme. I can use a new photo or a photo from the past. This week’s theme is “chipped”. Hopefully I can come up with an interesting photo.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I don’t think I have ever gotten that many comments on a post, not counting my Weekly Winners. Thanks to all of you who comment on Weekly Winners too It is just nice to know that there are readers out there and that I am not just talking to myself.

OK, I’m cheating a little bit. I guess delurking day was actually on Moday January 12th, but I missed it. I am making today delurking day at Kerry’s Ramblings.

What does Delurking Day mean exactly? It means you comment here, and on other blogs you read regularly. You can comment even if you have never done so before to JUST SAY HI. Or whatever you feel like saying.

I have to say that the comment issue is something that I struggle with on this blog. I really don’t blog for popularity. I blog so that friends and family can keep up on what is going on with our family. I blog so that someday my kids can go back and read my archives and see photos and read stories about what our lives were like. But sometimes I can’t help feeling down about not getting any comments.

I read other blogs where they get hundreds of comments a day. I’m not hoping to get that kind of bloggy fame, but I’d still like to get comments and know who is reading my blog. I check my stats and I know that I have readers. But if you look at my comments you would think I am mostly just talking to myself.

I have to admit, I am not great about leaving comments on other blogs either. Sometimes I just don’t know what to say. But since I have started posting on my blog regularly, I have really made and effort to do a better job at leaving comments. I know how much I appreciate them.

So, today is the perfect day for you to let me know that you are a reader. You don’t have to write anything fancy or profound. Just a simple little “Hi” will make me happy.
