I know I should probably be posting some Thanksgiving photos, but you know what? I didn’t take any. I don’t think anyone in my family took a single photo on Thanksgiving. So instead I’ll show you some of this fun urban shoot I did this week.

We spent most of Thanksgiving day with Scott’s family. His brother Mike was visiting from Arizona with his wife Maren and their cute baby Lucy. It is always fun to spend time with them. I really love Maren. She is such a nice person and so much fun to be around. And I love her sweet little Lucy.
We thought about getting up early and going shopping for Black Friday, but we decided not to. We really didn’t need anything this year so we decided that we needed the sleep more
We ended up going to Salt Lake City and having lunch with 3 of Scott’s siblings and his dad. It has been almost a year since we have seen Reva, and it was nice to see him again. We went to Siegfried’s, one of my favorite lunch places. It was the third time in a week I was there! I did a photo shoot in the alley behind there, so I needed to check it out first, and then we had to get hot chocolate to warm up after the shoot.
It was a nice Thanksgiving and we are all really enjoying having a few days to just hang out and spend time together!
We are definitely in the throws of the terrible threes with Nora.
She has been incredibly difficult lately. She constantly antagonizes Ian and Emma and then she completely freaks out when they do anything to her. Screaming fits are a regular occurrence lately.
I remember going through the same thing with Ian and Nora. I thought I had even written about it here. But I went back through the archives and I couldn’t find anything. I know that most people complain about the “terrible twos” but my kids seem to go through the terrible threes instead.
I have just been trying to be patient with her, and not let her get the things she wants when she is throwing fits. I have picked her up and carried her away from what she wanted multiple times this week. A few days ago at my parents house she wanted chocolate milk. She started whining for it. I asked her to talk to me in her nice voice and I would give it to her. She refused. She started escalating until she was having a complete fit. I picked her up and just carried her down the stairs and put her in her car seat. She fell asleep mid cry.
I just keep telling myself “this too shall pass”. I’m hoping it will pass quickly
It is officially winter in Park City, and this time I think it is here to stay. I haven’t really been looking forward to it. I have been enjoying my photography business and I know that it will slow down now that winter is here. Most people just don’t want to brave the snow and cold to have their pictures taken. But, I really can’t complain. It has been a great fall. We had unseasonably warm weather almost right up to yesterday’s snowstorm.
Now that the snow is here, I am actually kind of enjoying it. I snowblowed the driveway twice in the last 24 hours.
What I didn’t enjoy about the snow was getting stuck on I-80 last night. I was on my way home from Scott’s hockey game with the kids. It was a blizzard. The roads were snowy, but not too bad. As we approached our exit off the freeway, traffic started slowing down. Then it came to a complete stop. I could see my exit up ahead, but there was no way I could get to it. All lanes of traffic were blocked and there was no shoulder. We ended up being stuck there for an hour and a half. I think that Parley’s Canyon was closed due to an accident. The traffic backed up and there was nowhere to go. The worst part was that if I had taken the frontage road, we never would have gotten stuck. Luckily I had stopped at Taco Maker on the way home. The kids ate in the car and then watched a movie. They were fine, it was mom who got impatient.
Finally, the traffic started moving and we got home. By the time we got home we had almost 10 inches of snow in our driveway. I wasn’t even expecting it to snow, and we got dumped on!

Emma went for her first time a few weeks ago. She loved it, and Nora has been talking about going ever since. She is the stuffed animal lover in our family, so I knew it would be right up her alley.
She picked out the softest bunny. She loved it as soon as we saw the display. As a matter of fact, she couldn’t quite understand why she couldn’t have that one, instead of the flat one without any filling. But we convinced her to put that one back and she took hers to be stuffed.
She picked out a heart, and kissed it before putting it inside the bunny.
She took it and gave it a “bath”
Then she picked out a fairy costume and she got the bunny all dressed.
She named her “Hunny Bunny” and she hasn’t let her out of her sight since we left the store. It was a fun day, and a fun way to spend some special one-on-one time with Nora!
