I did a little photo shoot with my own kids tonight. I just haven’t been photographing my favorite (HA!) subjects lately. My kids are so sick of my camera and it always ends in frustration for all of us. But I have really been wanting to get a good one of the three of them together. Tonight I took them out onto the golf course behind my parents house. There were so many great spots to use! I was able to get a few good ones of them together. Yippee! I have lots of keepers and a bunch to edit, but here is one to tide you over.

Here is my entry for this week’s I ♥ Faces challenge. The theme this week is blue.

I did a “cake smash” photo session for my one year old niece this week. It was so much fun and I think it turned out so cute! I edited these photos on my laptop, while on vacation. I’ll do some touch ups once I get back. I just wanted to get this little sneak peek up as soon as possible. Enjoy!

Wow, this was a hard one. I’m still not entirely happy with it. I just upgraded to Photoshop CS4 so I am still learning my way around. I am also missing some of my presets and actions. But, here you go anyway

I got to photograph this adorable couple this weekend. The lighting was tricky at the location we chose, but I think the scenery was worth it. I was really happy with some of the shots I captured. I love how I was able to capture how in love they are. They were so cute together and they are going to be such great parents!

I decided to get a little more creative with this photo. I did my normal adjustments: increased brightness with curves, adjusted the skin tones, cloned out a few hot spots on her face. Then I played around with cropping, but I couldn’t come up with anything I liked.
I liked the brightness of this image and how the sun was shining. I decided to apply a texture to enhance that look. I think it turned out pretty fun.

I did a photo shoot for some friends of mine a few weeks ago. Their little boy is so adorable, but he wasn’t interested in smiling for me at all. I got tons of contemplative looks. This one stood out for me, so I decided to make it my entry for the week.

I got to photograph this sweet little 7 week old this week. She wasn’t very happy with me, but we still managed to get some good shots.

This week’s photo was technically good. It was a bit dark, but it was nice and sharp. Mostly, the skin needed work.
I first opened this photo in ACR. I actually lessened the exposure, because I didn’t want the big white spot on the right to be so bright. I figured I’d brighten the exposure with curves so that I could mask off the background area to keep it darker.
Then I went to Photoshop CS3 and brightened with curves. I masked off the background.
I did some color correction with curves and the color-by-the-numbers method.
Then I went to work on the skin. I used the spot healing brush and the patch tool quite a bit.
Last I used MCP Actions Powder your nose at a very low opacity.

Apparently Ian has been quite the ladies man at school this year. I posted a few days ago about his “kissing incident“. I guess he has 3 girlfriends, now
One of them, though, wants to concentrate on her school work instead of flirting with Ian. Look at what she wrote to him:
How cute is that?
So far none of the teachers has spoken to me about it. That usually means it isn’t too big of a problem yet. We have had a few talks with him about it. I didn’t expect to deal with this in Kindergarten already. If this is what it is like now, I can’t wait for the teenage years!
