I know I sound like a broken record, but I can’t believe that another month has gone by! I was chatting with some ladies on my pregnancy buddy group, and they are already starting to plan first birthday parties. It still seems like that is so far away, but I know that it is right around the corner.
This past month Nora has really decided that she loves to eat! She will eat anything and everything that I put on her tray. She still eats a lot of Cherrios, but she loves almost anything. I give her bits of whatever the kids are eating. She eats grated cheese, grated veggies. She eats everything up as fast as I put it on her tray–I can hardly keep up with her!
She also started pulling herself up on things! She started standing up in her crib in the middle of the night. She would wake me up screaming–I think she couldn’t figure out how to sit back down. A few days later I looked over and she had pulled herself up on her exersauser. I am just not ready for all of this! She even let go and stood briefly on her own once. She still seems like a little baby to me, and she is growing up before my eyes.
One of her new favorite things to do is to dig in my plants and eat the dirt. Yuck! One day this week she did it 3 times in the same day. She grabs handfulls of dirt and stuffs the mouth full of dirt until she gags. I clean her up, and sweep up all the dirt, and within minutes she is back to doing it again. I spent about an hour and sewed a plant cover the other day. I put it on, and I was so pleased with myself. Within 5 minutes Nora figured out how to dig in the middle of the plant along the trunk and get the dirt out anyway!!
Nora loves the “dropsy” game. She gets her toys and drops them and says “uh-oh”. She loves to do this over and over. As soon as I pick it up and hand it to her, she throws it down again as fast as she can. It is so cute!
Sleeping is still a challenge. She still wakes up about 2-3 times most nights. For quite a while she had only been waking once around 4:00am. But for the last few weeks it has been more. I know part of it is the standing–since she is learning a new skill she is waking up at night. I also keep thinking she might be getting her first tooth, but I don’t see anything poking through yet. I was good with the waking one time, but the 3 times? Not so much!
Happy 10 month birthday sweetie! You will be one before I know it
